Dads' Space and Mums' Space least used features:
There are some features of the site that do not get the use we think they should.
Firstly, please don't forget you can send cards and gifts electronically. It is a really simple thing to do on the site and these can make a lot of difference to know that you are remembered on special occasions or someone is supporting you with lives day to day challenges.
Secondly, photos we are surprised that this part of the site is not used more, get out there and take some photos, keep it simple and remember to posts of yourself from time to time.
Tips for new users of Dads' Space or Mum's Space
If you re-establishing a relationship after a significant break
When you are contacting a child you have not seen or had contact with for awhile, do let them know you love them but don't overwhelm them with declarations of love and affection, particularly if contact has been strained. Do find out what happening in their life, who their friends are, what they like doing, what they are good at and what they don't like. Children and young people's likes and dislikes change quickly and keeping up to date on Dads' and Mums' Space is easy. Let the relationship develop over time, try to go at the pace of your child and be directed by what they want to discuss.
Remember, you can always call the service if you want to discuss a concern about your relationship with your child or whether a comment is appropriate or helpful or not.
