The Respect Phoneline offers information and advice to frontline workers about working with domestic violence perpetrators. We:

  • Explain how domestic violence perpetrators manipulate statutory or voluntary sector workers in order to exercise power and control over their partners
  • Offer advice on best practice, explaining which interventions are safe and most effective
  • Explain why anger management courses, mediation and couples counselling are not appropriate interventions for domestic violence perpetrators
  • Listen to your concerns about working with a client and offer a fresh perspective
  • Provide contact details for local domestic violence perpetrator programmes
  • Provide contact details of trainers and consultants who offer domestic violence perpetrator work training and expert help to set up a programme
  • Provide information about the content and structure of domestic violence perpetrator programmes
